Sylita Thomas

Hello. I'm Sylita Thomas — writer, traveller, digital creative, and someone who thinks too much about coffee, autumn leaves, and the quiet things most people walk past.

I've spent a good chunk of my life in Spain. Barcelona in particular has shaped how I see the world — its light, its noise, its rhythms. The language. The food (though I have opinions about olives). The way Sant Jordi fills the streets with roses and books every April. I won a poetry prize there once, written in Spanish, which still surprises me.

Writing in a second language forces a kind of clarity. You use the words you know. You can't hide behind complexity.

I've also spent time in Paris — the kind of time where you sit in a cafe with a hot chocolate and do absolutely nothing, and it's perfect. I take photographs. I believe a single image can hold a whole afternoon.

Outside of writing and wandering, I swim, cycle and run. Triathlon is one of those things that found me rather than the other way around — and I haven't stopped since. You can follow along on Strava.

This site is a place where I put things down. Stories, photos, thoughts, poems. Nothing has to be useful. It just has to be true.

You can find me on Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or on the social page.
