Smurfs 50th Anniversary

My most favorite cartoon in the world for life the “Smurfs“celebrated their 50 years throughout 20 cities in Europe today! The smurfs are very international and originating in France October 23rd, 1958. The first publication of the Smurfs or better known as the Schtrompfs, appeared in the Belgium newspaper named Spiron with the French language.

The smurfs are very international and here are some of the names in other countries that I know of:

French - Schtrompfs

English – Smurfs

Spanish - Pitufos

Smurffit – Finnish

On television in the USA the Smurfs endured 16 seasons and running 272 episodes which I have probably seen all by Hanna Barbera.

If you’re a fan or not its interesting to check out the Smurfs anniversary website. Its neat even if you’re not a fan.

I actually have a collectible Smurfs pendant that my mother bought me as a child. I still have it. I’m not even sure which Smurf it is but I’m happy that I still have it.

Customized Christmas Ornaments

Well I can admit the Christmas Holiday has come around so fast! Just Tuesday, I designed a customized Christmas ornament for my nephew Chase. I used Cafepress and purchased through my shop. It was cheap considering other services out there for $5.99. I recommend using Cafepress if you like customized Christmas ornaments even if you play around with it yourself. Video Resume The Way To Go

I just finished reading today’s online USA Today and how resume videos will probably explode in the next months. It’s actually very interesting but it doesn’t surprise me. With technology innovations such as Youtube and other video outlets its very easy to demonstrate who are and what you bring to the table. Not just facts in print such as traditional resumes.

Here is a good example of a video resume by Allen Ulbricht who was featured in the USA today article. He’s famous now

But it’s great to present something fresh and unique and video helps you do that!

Worlds Tallest Man Finally Married

When I was young, I had some issues about my height. But in hindsight, what the heck was I thinking?? Here is the worlds tallest man, at 7’9 who HAD some issues. Because of his height it hendered many of his dreams and possibilities.

One, trouble with dates etc, he sent out 1,000 of marriage advertisements but in the end wedded a woman from his hometown who is half his age and 2 feet shorter :O
